2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport

The 2021 Volkswagen (VW) Atlas Cross Sport is essentially a shortened version of the popular VW Atlas three-row SUV. It is available with 4Motion SUV capabilities and V6 power. This is one of the ways in which German auto manufacturer Volkswagen has decided to spoil its customers with choices. Closest competition to the Cross Sport is the Honda Passport, where engineers have adopted the same design philosophy. However, German styling is unique to the VW brand.

Trims Available:

The Cross Sport is a fun and adventurous SUV, for which buyers will get to choose from the following six trims:

  • SE
  • S
  • SEL
  • SEL Premium
  • SEL R-Line
  • SEL Premium R-Line

Variants of the 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport do resemble the Audi Q8 in many ways. Along with the variants, prefixes V6 and 2.0 are added to indicate the type of engine. Similar, 4Motion is used as a suffix for some variants, denoting All Wheel Drive for VW.

Exterior Appearance:

The SUV does look unique at the outside, with a muscular front end that resembles the Audi Q8. LED headlights and LED daytime running lamps are available as standard. Lights flow beautifully into the front grille, and there’s a lot of chrome here. The LED headlights can be seen with L-shaped indicators. Notice the VW logo at the center of the grille. Gloss black and horizontal slats are visible in the lower bumper area. The vehicle also gets functional side air curtains.

Straight lines of design meet the windscreen from the grille. 20-inch gun metal alloys are available on the R-Line trims. A silver Cross Port badge can be seen near the door. The vehicle gets a sloping roof line and has roof rails. Outside mirrors get integrated turn signals. A low roof spoiler is present at the rear, and the LED taillights appear quite big.

Engine Specifications:

It is time to know about the heart behind the Cross Port’s muscles. It comes with two engine options, one of them being a 3.6 liter V6. This powertrain generates 276 hp of power and 266 lbs.-ft of maximum torque. The car with this engine does 0-60 mph in 7.1 seconds here. Apart from this, a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine with 235 hp of power and 258 lbs.-ft of torque is also on tap. Both engines are connected to 8-speed automatic gearboxes.
