Iconic Halloween Movie Cars

Halloween Cars Clarksville TN

When it's the Halloween season, what comes to mind is often thoughts of spooky things like zombies, creepy creatures, ghosts, etc. But how about remembering some of the craziest cars that have ever appeared in horror movies that still, even today, have an impact on audiences throughout the world? Here’s your chance to take a walk down movie memory lane.

The Plymouth Valiant from Duel
This 1971 all-American spine chiller, from critically acclaimed director, Steven Spielberg follows a man in a Plymouth Valiant on a business trip. This business trip changes abruptly when he winds up being pursued and threatened by a crazy driver of an enormous Peterbilt truck. This film's plot is all about the pursuit, and it’s believed that Steven Spielberg picked that specific Plymouth because the car's front reminded him of a face. The truck's corroded shade was likewise picked to match the dusty shades of desert streets.

The Aston Martin DB 2/4 from The Birds
In the universally-respected 1963 Alfred Hitchcock-directed horror drama, The Birds, starred Melanie Daniels playing Tippi Hedren, a young woman who moves to a smaller town in the search for a better life, only to end up in the middle of baffling and terrifying assaults from the local birds. The 1954 Aston Martin DB 2/4 was purchased by a Los Angeles resident after the films' completion and refurbished the damages accrued during shooting.

The Oldsmobile Delta 88 from The Evil Dead
This Sam Raimi-directed 1981 horror film follows five companions traveling to a secluded lodge, where they accidentally bring up demons possessing evil powers. The 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 used in the movie was the director's car when he was young and showed up in every one of the four Evil Dead franchise films. As the adventure unwinds, the car, in the end, transforms into a time-traveling vehicle, furnished with body reinforcement and rotating destructive edges.

Chevrolet Heavy Duty Cab Over Engine from Jeepers Creepers
This 2001 horror film gave the 1941 Chevrolet Cab Over Engine a much more menacing reputation. The storyline is based on a brother and sister on their route home after spring break. As they pass through a little American town, they run into a driver with awful road rage. From then on, horrific sequences start. Unearthing ravaged human remains is a cakewalk when compared to being pursued by the terrifying Creeper! The car was modified to turn into "The Creeper Truck," and every modification was carefully intended to coordinate Stephen Legler's vision for the nerve-destroying truck.

The Plymouth Fury from Christine
The legendary 1958 Plymouth Fury that appeared in the 1983 remake of the Stephen King book is a must-include in this list of horror films. In this exemplary John Carpenter-directed horror movie, a car, by Christine's name, becomes the overwhelming focus as a geeky young person's first drive quickly becomes terrifying. After suffering damages, the car chooses to deliver retribution by going on a lethal killing spree and transforms its driver into unadulterated evil. The model was initially made in beige; however, the red trim was ordered particularly for the movie. Let's be honest: nothing is as good as an awful red car in a wicked horror flick.

Enjoy the Holiday!
